My mother had 8 beautiful homebirths with midwives, so my appreciation for midwifery began at a very young age. In the fall of 1998 I started pursing the study of midwifery in order to provide an alternative for those desiring to have a natural delivery outside of the hospital environment. I trained mostly at a high volume birthing center with a primarily Hispanic clientele. After graduating from ATM in July 2002 and completing the NARM exam, I got documented in Texas in September 2002 and became a Certified Professional Midwife the following year. In 2004 I became an Arkansas Licensed midwife as well. I have participated in over 1000 births in birthing centers, hospitals, and at home and worked with over 20 different midwives and assisted in the training of over 70 students. I have delivered many VBAC clients and support the option of waterbirth. I have been trained to deal with emergency situations to include shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, suturing, and I am certified in both CPR and neonatal resuscitation.
I believe that childbirth is an incredibly beautiful part of life ordained by God. Birth is a normal physiological process and women have been uniquely designed for the childbearing experience.
I specialize in natural birth and firmly believe that a woman has the right to chose where she wishes to give birth and should be educated about her options. I encourage the family to be involved and support the woman in these choices. I do not believe in replacing the birth partner but rather compliment and offer support to the one the client chooses. My goal is to help couples safely birth healthy babies, while transforming their lives through the process and engraving a life-time of precious birth memories into their hearts.
I offer complete prenatal, birth and postpartum care as well as breastfeeding support, well woman care, and general childbirth education. I have my own homebirth practice and also work with a group of midwives out of Gentle Beginnings Birthing Center in Hurst, Texas.
I would consider it an honor and incredible privilege to be chosen to be your midwife during this intimate time of your lives. Please feel free to contact me for an interview or if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
