MIDWIFERY SERVICES OF SOUTH TEXAS

Claudine Crews CPM, LM

For most healthy women and their babies the safest place to give birth may be outside of a hospital with a skilled midwife in attendance. Your home or an out-of-hospital birth center is certainly the best place to ensure that your baby has the best chance of a gentle and untraumatic entrance into this world! Pregnancy is not an illness and childbirth is not a disease - these are normal and awesome events for which a woman's body is perfectly designed, not medical events!

I offer a full range of personalized maternity services to pregnant women and their familes in the South Central areas of Texas. Services include:

  • Personal, one-on-one care with an experienced, skilled home birth specialist

  • Respectful treatment, including your right to informed decision-making and choices

  • All prenatal care, visits in your home or my office

  • Evening and weekend appointments available

  • Labor and birth in the privacy and comfort of your own home or in a Licensed Birthing Center. Personal, individualized care including physical and emotional support and guidance, and appropriate monitoring of mother and baby. Mother's wishes will be followed as closely as possible. No episiotomies, and delayed cord-clamping is routine. Babies are kept with moms, and early breastfeeding is encouraged. Care also includes monitoring of both mother and baby in the hours following birth.

  • Water Birth including birth pool rentals

  • VBAC

  • Continuing care in the postpartum and newborn period

  • Home birth preparation classes
